Euro cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins, with internal and external doors typically having different levels of security.

The choice of cylinder you choose is crucial. It's dependent on the amount of use your doors and handles will receive. For example, external doors must be secured with a higher security cylinder, whilst internal doors can be secured with a standard cylinder. Some cylinders have extra features that can improve security, such as anti-drill or anti bump properties.

To make sure that the euro cylinder is of the right size for your door, it must be measured accurately. The cylinder must be measured from the screw hole in the center to the ends of the cylinder. Certain cylinders are constructed to withstand snapping. This is a common attack on cylinders. A special tool is used to break the lock's break line and then the front of cylinder is snapped off.
